More about Jane
I love food...and feeding people delicious, healthy food. I'm a big believer in moderation (not deprivation) in both dietary choices and life in general. I started Jane's Just In Time Meals to provide healthy and delicious meals to our community. Too often, healthy meals are scrapped for lack of time, skill or simply interest. Life is short, do what you love and let me handle dinner for you!
I've always loved cooking and learning about new foods. My dad swears I learned to read by reading cookbooks and there’s an old family story of 4 year old me sneaking down to the kitchen during naptime and baking a cake while my parents napped. My love of food has continued throughout my life – leading to me watching too many cooking shows and obsessively collecting recipes and cookbooks. The next big development in my culinary journey came when I relocated from the DC area to northwestern Wisconsin over a decade ago. Suddenly, I couldn’t grab whatever takeout my heart desired – I had to learn how to make it myself.
Professionally, it took a bit longer to come around to the hard truth that office life wasn’t for me. In 2011, I left the corporate grind behind and worked for 3 blissful years as the manager at Café Wren in Luck, WI. After a few years off to tend to my growing family, I returned to Café Wren in 2016 – this time focusing just on the soups and salad options. Now, I am bringing my family cooking skills and restaurant tricks together to provide healthy meals for my clients in their homes.
